Beautiful Sunday

After a few days of gloomy rainy weather, finally a beautiful day. I spent all day Saturday doing the normal weekend chores so I could have Sunday for picture taking. After lunch, my son, his friend, and I headed to the lake. They were very helpful, pointing out the flowers they would see, and I in turn would take pictures. The only problem was that the misquitoes were out in full force, so we didn't take our time in the trail. At least I got a few pictures, and then enjoyed the sun at the beach.

My head in the clouds...

I was looking at my pics tonight, and came across these pictures.  We always admire the beauty of nature on the ground, what is right in front of us.  But what about what is above us?  I went for my first airplane ride last August and I was amazed by what the clouds looked like from way up there.  My camera was out  of course, wanting to capture the beauty in front of me.  I think I got some pretty good shots, and I love to look at them once in a while, to remind me that nature's beauty is all around us.

A good weekend

What a weekend!  I got to relax by a nice roaring fire on Saturday night.  Just before the sun went down, i looked in front of me to see some flowers, and right in the middle of these purple flowers was one yellow one.  I just wanted to jump up, get my camera and take a picture.  Well, I did take some pics, but only the next day, and how it turned out was exactly what i had pictured in my head.... perfect!  I also caught one of a bee on the flower.  There were about 4 or 5 big bees, and here I am terrified of them but snapping away...lol!  It was worth it.

Muggy thursday....

Wow!  How warm is it here today!  27 degrees Celsius, and muggy... yuck!  At least the night is cooling down... sigh :) 

All day I have been thinking about the blog, and which of my pictures to post.  Should I follow a theme, or just be random.  Well, I can't answer...lol!  So I will go with the flow. 

I thought that today, I would post pictures of lakes around here.  I am not sure which lakes they are it being a while since I took them.  When I was younger, and we used to go camping, I would sit by the water and read, listening to the sound of the water - it was very relaxing.  I hadn't done that for so long, until this past mother's day.  My son and I went to the lake for a picnik and I got to enjoy the sound of the waves once again :)
